Objective:  The programme aims at educating the doctors on Diabetes, its prevention and its management (i.e.) total Diabetes care concentrating on all three levels of prevention – the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of prevention.

Syllabus:

• For Contact classes – Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology and clinical aspects of diabetes, insulin resistance and IGT,  Management of diabetes and its complications.

• For hands on experience: Podiatry, Blood glucose monitoring, Eye, Pyschosocial aspects, Lab methodology and research methodology.

Duration:    One year

Course Description: There will be 6 contact class wherein lectures  will be given by experienced faculties.  Hands on experience will be conducted for 5 days in batches at M.V. Hospital, Royapuram.
